The Election Commission of India has announced the Meghalaya Assembly Election Date of 2023. According to the Election Commission of India, the election will be conducted next month on 27 February. The elections will take place for a total of 60 seats in Meghalaya. As per Chief Election Commissioner Rajeev Kumar, the decision about the finalization of dates has been made by keeping in the CBSE board exams. Board exams are very important for students so they should not get disturbed between the exams. The results of the election will be announced on March 2, 2023.

The gazette notification was released on 31st January 2023, Tuesday. The candidates can fill out the nomination by February 7, 2023, and the scrutiny of nomination papers will be done the next day that is February 8, 2023. Withdraw of nomination can be done till 10th February 2023, Friday. After the completion of the voting on February 27, 2023, the counting of votes will be done on March 2, 2023, Sunday.

Election Commission of India
Planning and arrangements in Meghalaya have already started as elections will take place next month. Soon, a meeting will be organized between the Election Commission of India team and representatives of all political parties in Meghalaya. The meeting will have discussions about the upcoming election. After the completion of this meeting, the officials of the Election Commission of India will have one more review meeting with the Government of Meghalaya. Chief Secretary, DGP, and other senior government officials will be part of this meeting.
