Nationality
The candidate should be a citizen of India.
Educational Qualification
- The interested applicants must have passed class 10th with English and Mathematics as their subjects from a recognized board.
- It is necessary that the candidate must have studied the local language till class 10th.
- An individual should have knowledge of computers and should know cycling.
Age limit

The authorities of the India Post will announce the list of the selected candidates for Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS), Branch Postmaster(BPM), Assistant Branch Postmaster(ABPM)/Dak Sevak on its official website and GDS Online Portal. The candidates whose names will be on the list will be asked to come for the verification of original documents. The authority will inform the candidates about the document verification through SMS on his/her registered mobile number/email. The verifying authority will check the original documents and the documents that the applicant uploaded at the time of application.

Applicants will be selected according to the grade point averages from class 10 and by the system-generated merit list. The merit list will be made as per the marks scored/ conversion of Grades/Points to marks in the Secondary School Examination of 10th standard aggregated to percentage to the accuracy of 4 decimals.
